An agreement relating to the granting of a line of credit was signed in Abuja on Thursday 11 February 2010 between the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), represented by its President, Mr Christian ADOVELANDE, and NIGERIA EXPORT-IMPORT Bank represented by its Managing Director, Mr Roberts U ORYA.

The line of credit in an amount of US$ 20 million is to be used to finance export based projects, provide direct assistance to projects and to support trade facilities.

The new financial assistance brings the total commitment of EBID (both private and public sectors) in favour of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to UA 21 765 893.

EBID used the opportunity to organize on Friday 12 February a training seminar on clean development mechanism and on carbon market for the management and entire professional staff of NEXIM Bank and for some selected private-sector operators of NIGERIA.
